Rose T. Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are from Albuquerque. On our way to drive one of our favorite roads in northern New Mexico, the Enchanted Circle, several BIG BOLD paintings on the front porch of a simple adobe house caught our eye. We had to stop. When we entered the building we were drawn into breath-taking, sweeping, intense colors and a sweet dog named Lola greeted us. Unlike many galleries where we're either assailed by an artist who can't stop talking about themselves or worse, barely acknowledged, Ken Feldman introduced himself, warmly asked about us and invited us to explore his work. As we moved along we were drawn into our own New Mexico landscapes seen thru Ken's eyes and a touching story or two . We cannot boast owning a lot of original art but we were drawn to purchase one because we'd hiked that green and gold forest and wanted to feel that place in our home. My husband is telling me I'm started to sound sappy so I'd better stop. If you're a "tourista" or a local, enjoy the Taos plaza and all this unique city has to offer, but do get off the beaten path and meet Ken Feldman's New Mexico.

Ken’s art is a phantasmagorical representation of the New Mexican landscape, a visually arresting marriage of rugged terrain and the dynamism of weather. The colors electrify the scenes and reimagine the raw power of natural beauty in starkly personal terms.

We love Ken’s work, and his technique is so unique. We have several of his pieces and everyone that sees them always comments on how striking they are and how great his colors are. He’s an exceptional artist!

We were able to look at the artist's new gallery-studio to shop for a painting. This new venue was very inviting and comfortable and the artist was helpful in giving interesting background of each painting which made us appreciate his talent. The artist was customer friendly and made the acquisition a pleasant experience. Enjoyed meeting Lola and we look forward to visiting next year.

All,
I’m writing to thank Ken the artist at Crookedman. Ken is an amazing artist. He’s also a great guy to sit and talk with. I enjoyed my time at his studio. I would recommend anyone who is in Taos to visit him at his studio. Thanks again, Ken. I love the piece you sold me and look forward to the next one.

I bought a beautiful painting from Ken for my sister in California.  Purchased, shipped, delivered seamlessly.  Thank you Ken.

They love it!

Hi Ken,

We absolutely Love the art that Darla purchased from you.  The depth and color combinations are stunning and beautiful. We love how unique the piece is and that it is abstract and that we can see forms, fugues and landscapes.  Looking forward to visiting your studio when we are next in your area.

Thanks Lisa

I am drawn to the movement in Ken Feldman’s paintings—a movement demonstrated through the interplay between features such as plants and trees, skies, geological formations, and water. The intense colors and contrasts mirror the landscapes and buildings of northern New Mexico but as seen through a magical lens. The moods vary with the seasons, time of day, and location—from peaceful to brooding to relaxing to anticipatory to refreshing. It’s always a joy when Ken shares his newest paintings—and I remain delighted by the diverse range of paintings he continues to add to his collected works.

This studio has amazing modern Southwest art! Paintings and prints are colorful, expressive, dramatic. Unlike other art galleries here. Cool adobe studio building on the quiet side of the plaza, maybe 3-4 blocks north. Owner artist takes time to explain his work so you really appreciate the uniqueness. Prices vary.

"Ken’s landscapes capture the spirit and beauty of New Mexico. Amazing light and color provide the perfect complement to the views he paints. We really enjoy his work."

I truly appreciate Code Blue. Well done. This painting in-and-of itself is a Tornado. The awful beauty of it all … this composition gives me pause. It stills the soul, and then stirs without warning. I think it’s an honest tribute to ‘the tragedy’ on every level.

We found the painting we purchased from Ken at Barro Vino while enjoying some wine. It really spoke to us so we went by Ken's studio the next morning. Ken was very welcoming and he shared how he creates his unique art. We ended up buying the piece that we found at the wine bar and we love it. Every time we look at it we see something new.

As a Byzantine icon writer/painter I stay very focused on minute detail. So, I am stuck in a rigid artistic block and want to explore something entirely different. Ken advertised advanced painting classes and I signed up immediately. He has taught me how to loosen up my painting, get me outside of my box, color theory, technique and some very useful art history. He is an excellent teacher and guide without interrupting my creativity. I plan to take many more classes from him. I highly recommend Ken as an art teacher.
